BRUCKNER is a 4th generation family-owned company based in Weinstadt near Stuttgart.
We are specialised in the development and manufacture of live and dead centres, face drivers and quills. Our standard products and customer-specific solutions are used in various industries.
We supply customers all over the world, especially customers in the fields of mechanical engineering, automotive, medical and aerospace technology as well as customers in the field of energy and environmental technology.
As an internationally operating company, we distribute our products through our own sales organisations and competent and reliable partner companies. Our air-conditioned production is
technically at the highest level and ensures the quality of BRUCKNER products due to the comprehensive expertise of our staff. In this way we give our customers the guarantee of receiving a first-class product of lasting value.
1918
Karl Bruckner founds his engineering workshop in Stuttgart and lays the cornerstone for a success story which continues today – more than 100 years on.
Pedestal grinders and small lathes are built and at the same time he starts to manufacture dead centres.
1920
As a pioneer in his field Karl Friedrich Bruckner develops and produces his first rotating tailstock centre which he launches with the name „Centro“.
1931
On the early death of the company founder his son Karl Georg takes over management of the company and develops a series programme „dead and live centres“.
1940
Centres with carbide insert are included in the product range.
1963
The company is relocated to Großheppach, 25 km from Stuttgart.
1969
The range of series products is advanced and dead centres and carbide centres works standard are included.
1976
The product range is expanded to mechanical face drivers.
1989
Due to the invention of the patented safety core for solid carbide centres BRUCKNER makes an important contribution to work safety in external cylindrical grinding.
1994
Bokö face drivers and live centres are taken over from the competitor Bohner & Köhle GmbH.
1996
The mechanical face driver with vibration damping system and the safety spigot for tailstock sleeve support are patented.
1997
The series programme is extended by the spring-loaded centres of the LR and LD series.
2007
Live centres with VDI, Capto and cylindrical shank are developped to be used in multi-spindle machines and in machines with tool holding systems.
2008
Company representatives are established all over the world and a sales office is founded in Mexico.
2010
The demand for BRUCKNER products is increasing. Production capacity is expanded by building a new production hall and by commissioning new machines.
2018
The first special designs with polycrystalline diamond (PCD) insert are supplied. BRUCKNER celebrates the 100th anniversary with employees and business friends.
2020
A production hall for turning operations is completed. The energy for ventilation and air-conditioning system is supplied by a PV system.
2022
A production hall existing since 1964 is renovated and equipped with a ventilation and air-conditioning system.
